Fugitive Wanted In 2 States Arrested In Lyon County

A fugitive wanted in connection to theft-related offenses in three western Kentucky counties was arrested in Lyon County during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy Seth P’Pool responded to a disturbance complaint in the 600 block of Kentucky 295 in Kuttawa shortly before 5:00 p.m. after a caller reported an unknown vehicle had pulled into a driveway. The caller told authorities the subjects appeared to be outside arguing.

Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy P’Pool detained the three people involved in the dispute and during the investigation learned a passenger in the vehicle, 22-year old Travis Whitehair of Paducah, was a fugitive from Perry County, Illinois. Deputy P’Pool reports Whitehair is also a fugitive from Massac County, Illinois, as well as Calloway, Crittenden, and Lyon counties in Kentucky. In addition, Whitehair had an active Parole Violation Warrant for his arrest. Deputy P’Pool says all of the Kentucky warrants were for theft-related offenses.

Whitehair was taken into custody and booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Deputy P’Pool indicates the remaining subjects in the vehicle were released with no charges at this time.
