Congressman Comer Files For Re-Election

First District Congressman James Comer will run for re-election in 2020.

The Secretary of State’s Office reports Comer filed his paperwork Thursday to run for a second term. Comer tried to run for Governor during the 2015 election, but after losing, he successfully won the seat to succeed fellow Republican Ed Whitfield, who retired in September 2016. On November 8, 2016, Comer won a full term for the seat.

Comer currently has no opposition for the seat. The deadline for candidates to file for the 2020 election is January 28, 2020.
