A Hopkinsville man and woman were found with a large amount of drugs as police investigated a disturbance Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were looking for a vehicle in connection with a disturbance earlier in the morning and found the car parked in the area of South Virginia Street and East 9th Street.
Police reportedly found that two people were inside a building on South Main Street and after making contact with 34-year-old Lurena Sutton of Hopkinsville she told police no one else was inside.
Officers could allegedly see 40-year-old Christopher Shaw hiding inside the building and after getting consent from the owner. Shaw was arrested and a large amount of meth and synthetic drugs along with a scale were located where he was hiding.
Shaw reportedly gave officers a false name and a stolen social security card during the arrest.
Both are charged with trafficking meth, marijuana and synthetic drugs.
Sutton was also charged with second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension. Shaw was charged with tampering with physical evidence, and theft of identity.
