The Hopkinsville Police Department spent the weekend giving back to the community.
According to social media posts, Public Information Officer Mike Atkins visited the Walmart on Clinic Drive where he helped pass out $20 coupons to customers and paid off some of the few remaining layaways for this holiday season.
Various people also reported on social media that the department also handed out $100 bills to residents who were obeying traffic laws through the weekend.
