Renovation Projects Will Continue At Trigg Schools Over The Holidays

As students, teachers, and staff members are getting ready for Winter Break at Trigg County Public Schools, crews working on renovation projects will be hard at work ensuring things are getting done with the current projects.

Acting Superintendent Tim McGinnis tells the News Edge after the last day of school Friday, the elementary school building will be closed to everyone until January 5.

The elementary renovation project will see a bigger gymnasium and more classroom space for students.

In addition, McGinnis adds Princeton Lumber has done a great job on the vestibule projects and notes work will continue over the break in the high school.

The middle school vestibule project will continue, as well.

The middle school vestibule project includes moving the front office to the north end of the building.

As we have previously reported, the vestibule projects come after Senate Bill 1 was signed into law by former Governor Matt Bevin in March. The bill mandates school districts to restrict access to each building by July 1, 2022. The law was enacted following the fatal shooting of two students at Marshall County High School on January 23, 2018.
