A man was arrested after he reportedly fled from police in the area of North Drive Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 39-year-old Gary Douthitt for a seat belt violation and he fled at low speeds before stopping on Eagle Way at the intersection of North Main Street.

Douthitt reportedly had slurred speech and would not put his hands behind his back when officers asked him.
