Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Stealing A Car

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with theft after she reportedly took a car that was warming up in a driveway Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 30-year-old Heather Pepper was in a disturbance on Foxfield Drive when she took a car that was warming up in a driveway and fled the area.

Pepper was stopped in another vehicle in the area of Food Lion on Canton Pike and reportedly gave officers a false name.

The stolen car along with a firearm that had been in the car when it was stolen were located at Coffman’s Foods but the keys were not found.

Pepper reportedly told police she had used meth earlier in the day. She is charged with theft, tampering with physical evidence, and giving officers false identifying information.

Pepper also had an outstanding warrant for second-degree escape.
