Thousands Raised For Helping Hands Food Bank

Helping Hands of Trigg County will be able to help families in need after a food drive held Thursday afternoon.

At the end of the two-hour drive, nearly $7,000 was raised for the food bank located on Line Street in Cadiz. As of 9:00 AM Friday, an additional $1,000 donation was given by David Chesnutt.

Co-Chair K. G. Ariagno says they are always in great need of donations to help those in need.

She adds they were given a donation from an 80-year old woman who normally gives her children money for Christmas.

The food drive was hosted at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market. Owner Mallory Lawrence says Helping Hands is a great organization to support.

Monetary donations can be dropped off at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market or sent to P.O. Box 1874, Cadiz, Kentucky, 42211. All donations are tax-deductible and will go to help the food bank or their back-to-school program, where they purchase clothes for children in need.
