Two Injured In Crash After Hopkinsville Disturbance

A Hopkinsville man and woman were injured in a crash after a disturbance on Sanderson Drive Friday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say as they were responding to a disturbance on Sanderson Drive they witnessed a car driven by 40-year-old Keyetta Johnson who was involved in the disturbance run off the roadway at the intersection of Dawson Springs Road and West 7th Street.

Johnson reportedly tried to get the car back on the road but was not able to, when police walked up to the vehicle Johnson was seen in the driver seat wearing only her bra and pants.

Police say her behavior was erratic and she kept getting in and out of the vehicle and reaching for items inside the vehicle, Johnson reportedly had bloodshot eyes and she told police she had been drinking all-day

Johnson and her passenger 35-year-old Jermal Smith were both taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Johnson reportedly claimed at first there was a third person in the car that was the driver and had fled on foot but police were not able to find anyone in the area and witnesses said they did not see anyone else operating the vehicle.

Johnson is charged with DUI and was arrested on a warrant for non-payment of court costs.
