Flood Advisory Issued For Portion Of Western Kentucky

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory until 10:30 a.m. for the counties of Christian, Caldwell, Trigg, Todd and Lyon.

At 628 AM CST, the National Weather Service Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated moderate to heavy rain has fallen across the advisory for several hours overnight. One to as much as two inches of rain has already fallen in the advisory area. This will likely lead to urban and small stream flooding, especially in low lying areas and where leaves have clogged drainage systems.

Some locations that will experience flooding include… Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Princeton, Cadiz, Eddyville, Elkton, Fort Campbell, Land Between The Lakes Area, Clarksville, Guthrie, Pembroke, Crofton, Cobb, Canton, Rockcastle, Kuttawa, Trenton, Grand Rivers, Lafayette and Clifty.

Remember…Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.
