Parks And Recreation Ready For “HopkinsChill” Weekend

Next month, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation will be transforming downtown into “HopkinsChill” — a winter wonderland with a flurry of family-friendly holiday activities.

Superintendent Tab Brockman says ice skating in “HopkinsChill” and the lighting of the Christmas Tree will kick off the holiday activities on December 12.

The Grand Marshal for the HES-EnergyNet Christmas Parade is Hopkinsville Community College President Dr. Alissa Young.

The deadline for Christmas Parade float registration has been extended to noon on Wednesday, November 27. The cost to enter a float into the parade is $20 (plus tax) and a new toy to be given as a Christmas gift to a child or family in need.

Cash awards will be given for both traditional floats and golf carts, and WKDZ/WHVO will sponsor the “People’s Choice Award,” given to the large float that is voted on by the public.
