Beshear’s Transition Team Tapped, Includes Hopkinsville Man

Governor-elect Andy Beshear has announced his transition team, which includes a Hopkinsville man. Beshear made the announcement Friday that his experienced and diverse transition team will help prepare state government for his term as governor, which begins December 10th.

Beshear said they are honored to have such a strong and talented team of leaders and experts committed to helping Kentucky start this new chapter. He added they will never stop working to serve every single Kentuckian, including the lost, the lonely and the left behind.

Beshear said his diverse transition team represents a variety of backgrounds including, health care, education, finance, law enforcement, workforce, and medical professionals as well as community faith leaders.

Among his transition team is a name and face familiar to politics in Christian County and western Kentucky. Beshear chose former 8th District State Representative Jeff Taylor of Hopkinsville to serve as co-chair of the team working with the Transportation Cabinet.

According to Beshear, he and Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman are already at work planning the transition of government and addressing the issues that Kentucky families care about, like securing good jobs, accessing affordable health care, protecting and funding pensions and supporting public education.

Beshear announced Wednesday that Kentucky teachers are serving as grand marshals of the inauguration parade on December 10 in Frankfort.
