Hopkinsville Honoring Veterans With Two Events

Hopkinsville and Christian County will salute veterans on Saturday and Monday.

VFW Post 1913 Commander John Brame tells the News Edge the annual Veterans Parade will take place Saturday morning in downtown Hopkinsville.

 

Brame adds after the parade, veterans can join in on a special lunch.

 

Brame invites everyone to come out and support veterans Saturday.

 

Roads Closed for Saturday’s Parade:

  • 14th Street at Virginia Street
  • 13th Street at Virginia Street
  • 12th Street at Virginia Street and at Main Street
  • 10th Street at Main Street and at Bethel Street
  • Main Street at 7th Street
  • Bethel Street at 7th Street
  • Bethel Street at 9th Street
  • 9th Street at Justice Way

 

In addition to the parade, veterans will be honored during a program Monday morning at 11:00 at the VFW Post located off of Skyline Drive.

 

Brame notes there will be a lunch served after the Monday program.

As a reminder, City of Hopkinsville offices will be closed on Monday in observance of the Veterans Day Holiday. Hopkinsville Transit services will continue uninterrupted services from 5:00 AM until 6:00 PM, with $1 regular fares and deep discounts for military, elderly, children, and weekly or monthly pass holders.
