Man Shot And Killed On APSU Campus In Clarksville

Authorities are investigating a homicide that occurred on the campus of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville Sunday night.

Police spokesman Jim Knoll reports officers responded to a report shots fired in the area of the 800 block of Hand Village around 10:10 p.m. Based on initial information gathered from APSU Police, Knoll says the individual shot was not associated with the university and was transported to Tennova Hospital before officers arrived at the scene. The male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police believe the shooting was not random and the deceased man and the suspects possibly knew each other in some capacity.

According to Knoll, there is limited and unconfirmed information about the suspects, who are described as two African-American males, one of which was wearing a black hoodie and carrying a handgun. The second suspect was reportedly wearing a dark blue sweater, blue jeans and had a “fade”.

Clarksville Police and campus police are investigating the fatal shooting. If you have any information, please contact the Tipsline at (931) 645-8477.
