Hopkinsville And Christian County Presented Gold Sustainable Community Award

The South West Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) learned Monday afternoon that Hopkinsville and Christian County earned the next level in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Sustainability program.

TVA Field Representative Trina Smith presented the EDC with the Gold level award.

 

Smith notes communities are presented the awards once they reach a certain level of sustainability.

 

Hopkinsville and Christian County are the only TVA Gold Sustainable Community in the entire state of Kentucky.

EDC Board Chair Alan Gates thanked TVA for the continued effort on making the region a better place.

 

The city/county partnership is spearheaded by the City of Hopkinsville and the Community Development Services.

The next goal is to reach Platinum Community, which means they have made a significant and comprehensive commitment to sustainability and also has thoroughly integrated economic development.
