Trigg Road Being Renamed To Meeting Place Lane

Trigg County magistrates Monday evening approved to rename a road that was recently made much shorter due to new road construction.

Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander says Heritage Trace was recently affected by the new section of US 68/80.

He adds Dyers Chapel United Methodist Church is the only building located on the road and that they requested the name change.

Magistrates also learned the county recently received a $5,409 check as a part of the Kane County, Utah vs. United States lawsuit. The lawsuit, which was filed in June 2017, was seeking to recover underpayments of all Payments In-Lieu of Tax recipients nationwide from 2015-2017. Due to insufficient appropriations for both years, recipients did not receive the full amount to which they were entitled under the statute based on the Department of the Interior’s full payment calculation. Fiscal courts received notification of the lawsuit in June 2018.

The next meeting will be held Monday evening, November 4 at 6:00.
