Annual Christian County Unity Breakfast Coming Up Thursday

The Human Rights Commission Hopkinsville-Christian County will be hosting its annual Unity Breakfast next week.

The breakfast will take place Thursday morning at 7:30 at the James E. Bruce Convention Center, with doors to open at 7:00. Tickets will be $20 each.

Commission Executive Assistant Raychel Bailey tells the News Edge the guest speaker will be the Kentucky president of the NAACP.

Commission member Kinsley Livingston notes the breakfast is when they give out the Hal and Betty Thurman Award.

Bailey adds two other awards will be given out by Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks.

Bailey says the Human Rights Commission works very closely with the community.
