A multi-vehicle accident on I-24 in Lyon County caused traffic backups Friday afternoon.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd says that eastbound traffic was restricted to one lane near the 37-mile marker for almost two hours following an accident involving at least one semi tractor-trailer and two pickup trucks.
He adds that crews originally estimated having to close both eastbound lanes to recover the semi and clean up the site but notes that clean up and clearance went smoother than expected and no road closure was necessary.
No other information, including extent of any injuries, has been reported at this time.
