The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is preparing for a possible drought disaster declaration. Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles notes he wants to go ahead and get the paperwork in place.
Commissioner Quarles says conditions become more dry as you head east.
He adds a number of crops are feeling the impact of the dry weather.
Commissioner Quarles was the guest speaker for the Hopkinsville Elevator Cooperative’s annual meeting Tuesday at the Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville.
