Pedestrian Flown To Hospital After Being Struck In Cadiz

A Christian County man was injured as he was attempting to cross Main Street in Cadiz Tuesday night.

Sergeant Tyler Thomas with the Cadiz Police Department says a pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was crossing the roadway on foot in front of Minit Mart when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The man landed on the hood, fell off the vehicle and landed on the road.  Thomas adds the vehicle was operated by a juvenile, whose name will not be released.

Thomas adds the pedestrian was treated on scene by Trigg County EMS, before being transported to Trigg County Hospital. He was later life-flighted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of serious injuries.

Thomas notes they are still investigating the incident. The Cadiz Police Department was assisted on scene by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.

Although pedestrians frequently cross the street in the area, there is no legal crosswalk.

Main Street between Hospital Street and Midway Street was closed for approximately one hour.
