Champion Murders To Be Featured On “Killer Motive” Series

A horrific triple murder of a well-known Trigg County family that shocked the community in October 2014 will be getting national attention this weekend on the Oxygen Channel.

The one-hour documentary of the Champion murders will be a part of the series ‘Killer Motive’. The episode will feature interviews with family members, investigators and several other community members regarding the murders of 62-year old Lindsey Champion, his wife 60-year old Joy Champion and their daughter 31-year old Emily Champion, who were shot to death at their home on October 26, 2014. Kentucky State Police charged the Champion’s son, Ryan and Ann Plotkin of Hopkinsville in connection to their murders as well as the shooting death of 22-year old Vito Riservato, who was found shot to death inside the Champion’s home. Ryan and Plotkin both took plea deals in connection to the murders in December 2016.

The episode will air on Oxygen Sunday night with three sneak peeks already released — one of which is entitled ‘Ryan Champion’s One-Sided Rivalry With His Sister’.

Joy Champion’s sister, Judy Williams, tells the News Edge production crews were in Trigg County for about a week earlier this year and conducted interviews with several people.

She adds it was very difficult reliving the tragedy for the program.
Since there was not a trial, Williams says the program will shed light on the truth.
