Kentucky Lottery officials say an Oak Grove resident, who was the winner of Saturday’s $1-million Powerball ticket, claimed their prize Monday.
Spokesman Chip Polston says the winner and their family members wished to remain anonymous.
The winner told lottery officials “At first I thought they were kidding, but the five numbers on the ticket matched up. We just couldn’t believe it”. The winner added, “This is a life-changing event, and I plan on using this wisely”.
He adds the winning ticket was sold at 101 Lotto.
The winning Powerball numbers from Saturday nights drawing are 1-9-22-36-68 with a Powerball of 22.
