Cadiz Airport To Receive Grant Money To Make Improvements

U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced Monday that the Federal Aviation Administration will award $986-million nationally in airport infrastructure grants, some of which will help locally.

Chao says the nearly $27.3-million coming to the Commonwealth will help fund construction and rehabilitation projects to help maintain high levels of safety in U.S. aviation.

Lake Barkley State Park Airport located off of Blue Spring Road in Trigg County will receive $150,000 to improve the Runway 02/20 safety area.

Kyle-Oakley Field in Murray will be given over $359,000 to acquire land for a protection zone for Runway 5. Barkley Regional in Paducah will receive nearly $2.3-million to construct a terminal building. Other western Kentucky airports getting grant money include the Fulton Airport in Fulton County and the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport.
