Princeton Airport Included In Route To Break Guinness World Record

A journey to break a Guinness world record will make a stop in Princeton this week.

Daniel Moore, a pilot from East Tennessee, is planning on stopping at 110 airports within 24 hours on Wednesday, the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Moore will attempt to break the current record of 87 airports held by two pilots from the United Kingdom. He says his route will start in east Tennessee before heading to Kentucky, which will include a stop at the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport, and then will continue through Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina before returning home to east Tennessee.

He adds that he chose September 11th as the date of his world record attempt in order to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the tragic attack in 2001 and his goal of 110 airports is to pay tribute to the 110 floors of the World Trade Centers.

Moore estimates that it should take him about 14 hours of flying to accomplish the feat, which requires a full stop at each airport, and at least three or four fuel stops. He notes that he must ensure the plane comes to a complete stop before taking a photo of the airplane with a recognizable feature of each airport. People are also being encouraged to take photos of Moore and his Beechcraft Bonanza at each stop along the way.

His progress and all route updates can be tracked via 110airports.com or on Facebook at 110Airports.
