Clarksville Police have released the names of a married couple that died Thursday night in a domestic-related shooting.
Police spokesman Jim Knoll says 56-year old Tony Brown, who is believed to be the shooter, was found by officers deceased inside of the garage at a home located on Dandelion Court. His wife, 50-year old Janie Brown, was found deceased on the porch of the home. Knoll says the other man, a non-family member, who was shot is 19-years old and is expected to recover from his injuries. His name has not been released at this time.
According to Knoll, officers responded to the home for a shots fired call shortly before 9:00 and upon arrival heard gunfire coming from the garage. They also found a man outside the residence in the neighbor’s yard that had been shot, apparently the 19-year old, along with a woman on the porch of the home. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 19-year old man was flown to a Nashville hospital where he was listed in stable condition Thursday night.
Meanwhile, police said Tony Brown was still inside the home which led to police surround the home with the tactical unit. Crisis negotiators also responded to the scene. Shortly before 1:00 Friday morning the tactical unit entered the home and found Tony Brown dead inside the garage.
Police are still investigating the shooting.
