Motorcyclist Killed In Logan County Crash Thursday

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Logan County Thursday afternoon.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department reports the fatal wreck occurred shortly before 3:15 at the intersection of U.S. 68/80 East and the West Auburn exit. Deputies say the investigation determined 70-year old William Moody of Alvaton was operating a motorcycle on US 68/80 when an SUV driven by 21-year old Xavier Posey of Russellville pulled into his path. Posey was reportedly attempting to make a left turn onto the highway from the West Auburn exit when he pulled out in front of the motorcycle, causing the bike to crash into the driver’s door of the SUV. Deputies say Moody was ejected from the motorcycle and transported to the Bowling Green Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Deputies indicate Posey suffered non-life threatening injuries and refused EMS transport. His passenger, 20-year old Shannon Bryant of Russellville, was uninjured in the crash.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the fatal wreck.
