Trigg County school board members and the Superintendent Search Screening Committee held a joint meeting Thursday evening to begin the process of looking for the next leader of the district.
During the joint meeting, Kentucky School Board Association (KSBA) Field Consultant Tim Eaton shared the district had thirteen applications turned in for the Superintendent position, with none of them from the Trigg County school district.
Eaton notes the names of the applicants are strictly confidential during this part of the process.
Board chair Jo Alyce Harper told screening committee members they would like to have three to five recommendations by November 1 so they can do additional screening and hopefully pick the next Superintendent.
The screening committee is made up of board member Gayle Rufli, intermediate school Principal Brian Futrell, primary school teacher Brian Parker, high school Guidance Counselor Janay Futrell, instructional assistant Michelene Underhill, minority parent Maureen Llarena, and parent representative Paxton Redd.
Eaton adds the screening committee will have three closed session meetings to dwindle down candidates to recommend to the board is less than two months.
