League of Women Voters Discusses Voting Deadlines

A representative from the League of Women Voters spoke to Kiwanians Thursday about the league, as well as some important deadlines approaching regarding the upcoming general election.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that works to safeguard democracy. Stephanie Bolen, a league representative, says they have two main areas of concern: redistricting and increasing voter access.

She says they wish to increase public access and make it easier for people to vote.

Bolen also discussed important deadlines the public should be aware of, including October 7th being the last day for voters to register for the general election. For anyone unsure of how to register to vote, she says you can now do so online.

Another important deadline is October 29 which is the last day to apply for the mail-in absentee ballot.
