Semi And Driver Involved In Clarksville Pedestrian Fatality Found

Authorities say the tractor-trailer and driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a Clarksville Street Department employee were found Tuesday night in Beechmont, Kentucky.

Clarksville Police say an inspection of the semi determined the trailer was involved in the fatal crash which occurred shortly before 10:45 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Riverside Drive and College Street. Police reported the tractor-trailer hit a city employee in his 30s and then didn’t stop. The employee, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.

Clarksville Police along with Kentucky State Police secured search warrants for the trailer that enabled them to bring it back to Tennessee for processing by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Police say they are not releasing the driver’s identity at this time.

Due to this being an active investigation, authorities indicate releasing additional information tied to the case or making conclusions would be premature and potentially compromise this case.

Police are still seeking additional witnesses and information associated with the crash. Anyone with information can contact the Clarksville Police Department.
