4th Annual Summer Salute Drew Largest 2-Day Crowd Ever

Event organizers announced Thursday the 4th annual Summer Salute Festival drew the largest two-day crowd since its inception, with 29,000 people filling downtown Hopkinsville over the weekend.

Officials say only the Total Solar Eclipse version of the Festival was larger which brought in about 35,000 people over three days.

Summer Salute, touted as the “Biggest Party of the Summer”, featured 90 vendor spots and six free concerts Friday and Saturday and welcomed visitors from around the region and state. Since rebranding and restructuring from the event formerly known as Little River Days, organizers say Summer Salute has brought in a total of 104,000 attendees in four years, with no signs of slowing down.

Event organizers have already begun planning for the 2020 Festival and hope to exceed a goal of over 100 vendor spaces next year, with registration forms soon available on the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation website.

Organizers have already set the dates for the next five years, with the Summer Salute Festival to be held the weekend before Labor Day weekend.
