A Trigg County man was charged with wanton endangerment and reckless driving after he reportedly failed to stop for deputies Tuesday night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy David Tomlinson said 37-year-old William Oliver would not stop for deputies after they attempted to stop him for speeding on US 68 near Old Canton Road.

The pursuit ended when Oliver pulled into his driveway on Terrace Lane.

Tomlinson said Oliver had two children in the vehicle and told deputies he was trying to get home to his sick child.

Oliver was cited to court for two counts of second-degree wanton endangerment and reckless driving.
