Trigg Animal Control Asking For Help In Shot Dog Case

Trigg County Animal Control is asking for the public’s help regarding a dog that was shot last week.

According to a post on social media, Coco, a dachshund, was found bleeding in the owner’s front yard on Linton Road near Lock E Road around 1:00 Thursday afternoon, August 21. The dog was taken to Little River Veterinary Clinic for emergency care for a bullet near her spine. Officers indicate the removal of the bullet, guessed to be a .22 caliber or smaller type caliber, is too risky to remove at this time with it being lodged so close to the spine.

As of now, Coco is reportedly recovering but her final diagnosis depends on if she can walk properly on her rear legs, with nerve damage being the main concern.

If you have any information about this incident, please call Animal Control Officer Tori Davis at (270) 350-8209.

If you would like to donate to Coco’s medical bill, please contact Little River Veterinary Clinic in Cadiz at (270) 522-4445.
