The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says there will be a southbound traffic diversion along the Breathitt-Pennyrile Parkway in northern Christian County for emergency work starting around noon Thursday.
Southbound traffic on the will be diverted off to U.S. 41 southbound at the Mannington Exit 30 interchange. Heavy rain has undercut some of the pavement in a work zone traffic crossover, creating a hazard.
The contractor plans to divert southbound traffic for about 3 hours to allow repairs to the crossover, weather permitting.
Southbound motorists should follow U.S. 41 Southward to return to the Pennyrile Parkway by way of the KY 800 Crofton Exit 23 interchange.
