Alzheimer’s Association Spreading Awareness On The Disease

As the annual Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s is set to occur in late September, the association is urging people to be on the lookout for warning signs of the serious disease.

Walk co-chair Cindy Hancock says Alzheimer’s is not a normal stage in aging and that it’s among the leading six causes of death in America.

She adds the only way they can eventually find a cure for the disease is by creating awareness.

Hancock notes there are ten warning signs when it comes to detecting Alzheimer’s.

More than 16 million Americans provide unpaid care to Alzheimer’s patients.

The annual Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place Sunday afternoon, September 29 at 2:00 in downtown Hopkinsville. Hancock says they need as much support as possible to raise funding to help find a cure.

Hancock spoke to the Cadiz Rotary Club during their weekly meeting Tuesday afternoon.
