Summer Salute to be Biggest Party of Summer

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation has been busy planning the 4th annual Summer Salute festival set for next Friday and Saturday, featuring two big-time artists headlining the festival, as well as many activities for the all ages.

Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman spoke to Kiwanians Thursday, saying he is proud of the collaborative spirit that made the event possible.

He adds the festival will be from 10:00 to 10:00 each day, with the music beginning at approximately 11:30 both mornings. Brockman also wants the public to be aware that they will be closing 9th and Bethel Street at 5:00 Thursday evening.Brockman says Friday will feature music from multiple artists throughout the day, including The Jimmy Church Band that evening.

Saturday will be fun-filled as well, with concerts going on throughout the day featuring Joe Diffie performing that night.

Brockman says he enjoys the way music brings the community together.

The Summer Salute will feature many events such as bounce houses, carnival rides, laser tag, and arcade games, as well as over 90 vendors in downtown Hopkinsville.
