HPD Working To Preserve The Department’s History

The Hopkinsville Police Department is asking for your help as they collect information and items in order to preserve the agency’s history.

Sergeant Edward Eastman tells the News Edge the Hopkinsville Police Department was formed around 1873 and does not have any items to display to show it’s history. He says the idea of collecting items to display to show the history of the department was pitched to Chief Clayton Sumner who was in favor of it.

Eastman says they want any items relating to the police department in order to build a display accessible to the public.

He started this project about a month ago and now they are asking for the public’s help.
