The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning some closures along Highway 293 north of Princeton this week. Spokesman Keith Todd says two sections of the road will be closed to allow for cross drain replacement work.
On Monday, Highway 293 will be closed at the 14.4-mile marker between Needmore Road and Ridge Road from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. For Tuesday and Wednesday, Highway 293 will be closed at the 20.3-mile marker between Tayloe Bend Road and Tradewater River Bridge, near the Caldwell-Hopkins County border. The second closure will begin around 8:00 AM Tuesday and is expected to reopen Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
Todd adds motorists should make advance alternate travel plans as no marked detour will be provided. For the Monday closure, motorists can self detour along highways 70, 139, and 91. For the Tuesday/Wednesday closure, motorists can detour along highways 1294, 291, and 70.
