Escaped Tennessee Inmate Now In Custody

A Tennessee inmate, who has been on the run since escaping from the West Tennessee State Penitentiary Wednesday, is now in custody.

The Tennessee Department of Corrections says Curtis Watson was taken into custody late Sunday morning by law enforcement officials.  A resident of Henning, TN, reported to law enforcement early Sunday morning they saw Watson on their property.  The surveillance photos showed Watson on the porch of the home and taking food out of a refrigerator.

Watson is accused of assaulting and killing Tennessee Department of Corrections employee Deborah Johnson Wednesday, August 7.  Law enforcement officials have searched for Watson in West Tennessee since the assault and murder occurred.
