Trigg County students head back to class Wednesday, but teachers and staff members gathered Tuesday morning for the 15th annual Gala of Tables to kick off the school year.
Interim Superintendent Tim McGinnis spoke for about an hour welcoming new staff members, providing updates on the upcoming Superintendent search, and various other topics.
McGinnis reminded teachers and staff their purpose each and every day is to serve the children who walk through the doors.
He adds they need to remove distractors to effectively teach students.
McGinnis assured teachers and staff members they are doing great things.
The annual Gala of Tables began in 2004 when McGinnis was Superintendent for the district.
The event showcases community support as each table is decorated by Trigg County businesses. The breakfast was sponsored by the Cadiz Restaurant and serves as motivation to start the year off right for all teachers and staff members.
