101st Airborne Division Soldiers Returning From Kuwait

More than 140 soldiers will be returning to Fort Campbell Wednesday after a nine-month deployment to Kuwait.

Fort Campbell officials say the soldiers are assigned to the 594th Transportation Company, 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. While deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve, “Lifeliner” soldiers provided uninterrupted transportation of supplies and equipment throughout Kuwait in support of U.S. forces.

According to Army officials, the 594th Transportation Company executed more than 600 transportation movements, totaling over 500,000 miles driven; executed 14 port debarkation missions; transported hundreds of containers to supply points throughout Kuwait; and executed two field training exercises.

The welcome home ceremony is scheduled for 12:35 Wednesday afternoon at Hangar 3.
