US 62/KY 91 Intersection Closure Begins Saturday In Princeton

Motorists need to be aware a railroad crossing on a highly traveled state highway in Princeton will be closing Saturday for much needed major upgrades.

State transportation officials say the closure for rail crossing work will be on US 62 at the KY 91 intersection, which is across from Casey’s General Store. Officials note US 62 is expected to remain closed at this site until Wednesday, August 7th but state KY 91 will remain open to traffic on the north and east legs of the intersection during the work.

According to officials, there will be a marked detour for US 62 along Interstate 69 between the Princeton-Eddyville Exit 71 interchange and the Princeton-Marion Exit 79 interchange. Motorists need to be aware of the extended detour and allow extra travel time while the detour is in place. Residents are being asked to use alternate local routes until work has been completed.

Todd states that approximately 15,000 vehicles travel through the US 62/KY 91 intersection in an average day.
