Salvation Army And Walmart Partnering To ‘Stuff The Bus’

The Salvation Army in Hopkinsville, Walmart, and Walmart Neighborhood Market have teamed up for a nationwide campaign to provide new school supplies for local children in need of a fresh start to the school year.

Salvation Army Director of Social Services Alisa Barton tells the News Edge they are excited to be a part of the nationwide “Stuff the Bus” campaign event that will be held Saturday.

She adds this is the first year of participating in the campaign and she is unsure of the outcome or how many children will receive school supplies.

The Salvation Army kettles will be at Walmart on Clinic Drive and Walmart Neighborhood Market on Canton Street from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday.Harton adds the school supplies will be distributed to local children on Tuesday, August 6, between 10 a.m. and noon.
