College and Career Coach Hired for CCHS

Christian County Public Schools has hired Christina Russell to serve as College and Career Coach for Christian County High School. School officials indicate Russell is a veteran educator with 17 years of experience, serving both as a business teacher and cooperative education coordinator. She is also currently the chair of the business department at CCHS. Russell is a 2002 graduate of Murray State Unversity where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing Education and earned her MBA from Murray State in 2008.

According to school officials, the primary focus of the College and Career Coach will develop a school-wide career and soft skills education program, “Get Real–Get Ready”, which includes a belief that all students can be successful after high school. Students will choose and work toward one of four post-secondary options: two-year college or technical school, four-year university, military, or workforce. Students will also receive practical guidance on life after high school and the resources necessary to make a successful transition.

Russell says she is looking forward to giving back to the school and community that she loves and respect and adds she is thankful for the opportunity to help students make informed decisions about their future.
