Andy Beshear Campaign Stops In Princeton

Democratic candidate for Governor of Kentucky, Attorney General Andy Beshear, has declared that he will be a governor for all of Kentucky’s citizens during a campaign stop in Princeton Thursday afternoon.

During the meet and greet at Majestic House, Beshear indicated that as governor he will live by the Golden Rule, treating your neighbor as yourself, and the first step in doing so is fully funding public education for every classroom in every school system.

He added that doing right by your neighbor also means protecting health care.

Beshear went on to share the way teachers and his running mate, current educator Jacqueline Coleman, see the issue of health care.

He noted that increasing economic development and jobs also falls under helping your neighbor.

Beshear expressed that it was also his aim to protect the public pension system by creating new revenue streams that would take the pressure off small governments and state agencies but would still secure retirement for all public employees. He stated that as Governor he would also strive to end the opioid epidemic plaguing the state by focusing on prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Beshear will face incumbent Republic Governor Matt Bevin in the November General Election. Both Beshear and Bevin will speak at the 139th Annual Fancy Farm Picnic in Graves County on Saturday.
