Walk to End Alzheimer’s to Continue in Fight For First Survivor

The Alzheimer’s Association is urging people to help lead the way to end Alzheimer’s in their annual fundraiser next month.

Currently, nearly 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. This is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. The Alzheimer’s Association is hoping to raise money in their efforts for finding a cure during the annual Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which is set for September 29 at 2:00 in the afternoon with registration to begin at 1:00. The event will be held at the Christian County Justice Center in Hopkinsville.

Cindy Hancock, co-chair of the walk, spoke at the weekly Kiwanis meeting to educate people on the fight for the first Alzheimer’s survivor. She adds there are a few new things in this year’s event and she expects it will be a good time for the whole family.

She also wants people to understand how the Alzheimer’s Association assists people who have the disease.

Hancock says we should support those who have Alzheimer’s as well as their families.
