A Providence teen was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Hopkins County Wednesday afternoon.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to the wreck shortly before 3:00 on Red Hill Road near Orten Bridge Road in White Plains. Upon arrival, deputies found 18-year old David Horton, Jr., who appeared to have been ejected from his vehicle.
Deputies say a preliminary investigation revealed Horton was traveling east on Red Hill Road when for an unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle and hit an embankment. The vehicle then overturned multiple times, ejecting Horton. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
