Dawson Springs Man Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit

A Dawson Springs man is charged with fleeing from police after a high-speed pursuit that started in Hopkins County and crossed into Christian County Tuesday night.

Dawson Springs Police Officer Scott Raup Sr. said they attempted to stop 19-year-old Christopher Kirby for speeding and he fled at speeds of over 100 mph fleeing into Christian County.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Hunter Carroll used spike strips to stop Kirby on Madisonville Road in the area of Pleasant Grove Road.

 Raup said the car Kirby was in had been reported stolen the night before.

He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, speeding, and receiving stolen property.
