Kentucky Lottery Sets New Sales Record

The Kentucky Lottery says they reached a new sales record in fiscal year 2019.

The lottery’s board of directors learned last week the corporation reached total sales of $1,129,655,000, which was $87.1 million more than the 2018 fiscal year. Among transfers, the lottery moved $263.9 million to the General Fund to pay for college scholarships, grants, and education programs, with $8.8 million from unclaimed prizes going to the KEES Reserve Fund.

Lottery officials note scratch-off tickets were once again the largest individual game category, finishing the year at $669.2 million or a $56 million increase.

In other items approved by the Kentucky Lottery board was a contract extension for President/CEO Tom Delacenserie, his contract will now run through June 30, 2021.
