Details Released In Triple Fatality Wreck In Christian County

Deputies have released more information about a wreck that killed three people on Pennyrile Parkway, two miles south of the Lovers Lane exit Friday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say 72-year-old Golden Euler of Evansville was southbound on Pennyrile Parkway when she hit the back wheels of a tractor-trailer driven by 58-year-old Bernard Jackson of Indiana who was also southbound. The crash caused Golden Euler’s vehicle to run off the road and overturn four times before coming to rest in the roadway with no lights on. A third vehicle, driven by 38-year-old Jose Gabiel Felipe of Hopkinsville, was also southbound and said he saw the semi’s headlights but did not see the SUV because the headlights were not illuminated. By the time Felipe saw the SUV, he told deputies it was too late to avoid a collision, causing him to crash into Euler’s vehicle, which forced the SUV into a 180-degree spin.

Golden Euler’s passengers, her husband 76-year old Douglas Euler, her daughter 46-year old Kimberly Haley, and her granddaughter 25-year-old Jennifer Hoffman, all from Evansville, were killed in the crash.

Felipe received minor injuries and Golden Euler was flown to Skyline Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries.

Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel told the News Edge Friday the family was on their way Dayton Beach, Florida for a vacation along with some other family members in another vehicle. Daniel said a family member in the second vehicle told him at the hospital when they passed by the accident scene they didn’t recognize the family’s vehicle that was involved in the collision.
