Meal Prep Company To Create Jobs With New Facility In Benton

Governor Matt Bevin announced Thursday that a meal preparation company expects to create 50 jobs over the coming years and invest $2.9 million to build a new facility in Benton.

Executives at MegaFit Meals, which prepares fresh-cooked, healthy meals and ships them across the United States, plan to construct a 16,000 square-foot distribution facility within Southwest One Industrial Park to accommodate the company’s rapid growth since it was founded in 2015. This comes just two years after the construction of a new facility in Calvert City due to the company needing an operation four times larger because of its ongoing and expected future growth.

Officials say MegaFit Meals is a USDA certified company that delivers meals to bodybuilders and other elite athletes across the country. The business was founded by brothers PG and Billy Georgiou, whose idea originated in their parents’ restaurant in Benton.

During their bodybuilding days, officials say the brothers used the restaurant to prepare their meals a week ahead to save time. Members of the brother’s gym took interest in ordering healthy, easy-prep meals for themselves, which inspired the idea for MegaFit Meals.
